Dr. Rajendra Ramlogan

 

 

 

 

Dr. Rajendra Ramlogan is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Management Studies at the University of the West Indies and he holds a PhD in International Environmental Law from Cambridge University in England. He has significant work experience in the petroleum and petrochemical sectors in both upstream and downstream activities and has prepared and negotiated contracts involving several major international oil companies. He has also served on an American Bar Association Panel advising the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on its draft Petroleum law. Dr. Ramlogan has been involved in the development of environment laws in Trinidad and Tobago including laws dealing with Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA). He has also served as a Technical Adviser to the Minister of the Environment in the Government of Trinidad and Tobago. He has published numerous articles and has authored several books including “The Developing World and the Environment: Making the Case for Effective Protection of the Global Environment” in 2004 and “Judicial Review in the Commonwealth Caribbean” in 2006. Dr. Ramlogan is the recipient of several prestigious wards including the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust and Overseas Research Student Award and the Wilmer, Cutler and Pickering International Associate Internship Award (Washington, DC).
